Thinking of ADR Wheels

http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/ADR/ADR.htm

I was checking out the msport 18x9.5 rims and I like the look, I was wondering if I could fit 285-35-r18 in the rear and 255-35-r18 in the front. Would these tires fit on those ris, and would those rims fit on my rex. Thanks

Should probably move this one to wheel and tire...

Given the proper offset yes they would fit your car and you could run the desired tire sizes.

285s will fit, but the tread may stick out a few hairs on the sides.

255s you certainly won't have a problem in the front. You can even run 285s in the front, but you will need coilovers, and the offset (cant'rememeber amount) has to be EXACT.

the m- sports are only available in 45mm offset. I would find it hard to put anything over 245s up front. Ive got the cyphers on my car with 235s up front and they rub a little under extreme conditions

Actually the M-sports are a 35mm offset. I have had mine for about 3 months now. I am running 18" 8.5's in the front with 225's and 9.5's in the rear with 265's. You might get away with 235's up front but you might have a slight rubon full turn. The 225's have zero rub in the front. The 265's fit very nice in the rear, however I have had slight rub on tight turns with a bumb, but the rubbing is very, very small. Mine is also lowered about 1.25'' front and back. Pictures with the m-sports mounted.

with a 35mm offset you'll have to bring the tire size down a bit like wolf said.

Since when does a 255, on a 9" wide rim, with a 45mm offset rub? Isn't this a SleepR1 fitment (compensating correct 18" tire upsizing over a 17")

Are they really that bad? Cheaply made or something? Like I said, I don't know much about them.

its not a respectible brand. Its like wearing New Balance shoes instead of Nike (in this case Volk rims).

that's a really ghey analogy, because New Balance shoes are probably better than Nike's in the running world.

I'm not trying to be devil's advocate, or am not a New Balance fan, just stating the premise.

There's nothing inherently wrong with ADR wheels. They are designed to hit a low price point. Therefore, a lot of compromises are made in the construction of the wheel, ie, they are heavy and "less expensively" made.

IMO, spending a little more on a set of SSR GT-1s or Competitions will get you a lot more value for your money.

Very good points rynberg. I too don't think ADR are rice, or garbage. They make rims, they sponsor people, they seem like they run a good business. Also, they are smart and do not push that their rims are suited for race and drag, but rather for style and appeal. If someone just daily drives their FD, or is looking for a wheel that is simply for looks, I don't see a problem with ADR. wolf's car, along with the others I have seen with the ADR M-sports, all look fantastic. I'm not going to sit here and say their cars are **** just because of three letters on the centercap.
