Is there any tricks or tips to this??
Hey everyone, so I went back home from college this weekend to work on the rx7 and completed the swap of the auto diff to manual diff. I got the passenger side complete but I had to leave the drivers side 95% done, I couldn't get the I-Bar connected to the wheel hub. Its a damn pain in the *** to get them lined up and connected, after 40 minutes of frustration I got the passenger side done and moved to the drivers side and after 40 more minutes of frustration I called it a night because I couldn't feel my finger tips or toes anymore. So I want to know if there's a trick to doing this because it will save me some time when I get back at it next weekend. All help and tips are greatly appreciated thanks.

First off you did not have to take that apart just to swap diffs. Thus you did extra work.
Now to your problem. Aluminum is brittle and will crack when compressed. Thus on all AL parts that need such tightening, one side has a steel sleeve going through it that tightens up so the AL is not affected. This is the same as on the air pump and alternator.
This is not shown in the manual but visual inspection should make it obvious.
You need to take a punch and move this sleeve out some to make more clearance.
