what the hell is this crazy server doing..

if the first post did not show up right. here it is again....

my roommate was nice enough to let me stick his new wheels on my car to see what they look like. I have mixed feelings about the looks. It makes the car look a lot diff. I might have the chance to buy the set from him so I am trying to make up my mind. they arnt the volk gt-n's i want, but 1/4 of the cost well its hard to beat.

17x8 in front with a 235/40/17 the rear would be 17x9 255/40/17 for now. i just used the 2 fronts to see what it would look like for now.

my stock wheels looking kinda used up..

these kinda give the car a darker overall look. almost more exotic or something.. the tires still have the nasty paste from mounting, makes them kinda look funny. I did not clean them up since they were not staying on the car.

Pics don't do these wheels justice they look so nice up close. to bad my car is not white like I wish, it would look 10x better. Just wanted to share for others to see the color combo. oh and it was an overcast day so the true color of the car and wheels is not shown very well.

They do look nice....but I think I agree that it would look 100x better on a white FD...

If it is any consolation...I am going throught the same..."what looks good on my montego fd" also...

what other wheels have you looked at?

why not just bite the bullet and get the volks?

The only wheels i can seem to find that I like are volks, which come in around 1600-1800 for just the wheels.

I like the gt-n's in the gold color or the new gt-u

i felt over all the rpm2's are just to dark a wheel for my car. probably something silver with a polished lip would be a good choice. but I still like gold/bronze for some reason.

I think i might just give up and keep the stock wheels.

I am exactly like you....I think silver with a polished lip is what I like also.

My friend I think has those gt-u's or something similar from Volk...but with a polished center...and they are Beautiful..

In regards to cost...well, right now that looks to be a great deal...I have my eyes set on some Fikse...but my wallet/brain keeps disagreeing with me

Dude... i'd reconsider... the Enkei's look extremely good on your car, and i think the "smoke chrome" finish is the reason why. Unfortunately, volk wheels don't come in cool finishes like that (in fact most of 'em are f-ed up looking), I think it looks WAY classier.

You really wanna put ricey white, gold or bronze wheels on that nice elegant color? Check out Max Cooper's site... i think his black SE37's on MB is one of the best, most original looks i've seen. Too bad that color is apparently special order here in the states now.

Mako, I love those wheels... Those are hands down my favorite of the recent wheels I've seen... Unfortunately I just don't think they look that good on a dark car. It's just kinda goes too much towards the stealth look.

I just thought I'd share my all time favorite MB picture with you guys (ok, just ignore the wing)

Sadly, I have no idea what wheels those are.. We went thru it on a thread awhile back. If you zoom closely you'll see the centercaps say only Rx-7, and it's a AUS car with sidemarkers and RHD.

If you backtrack the picture you can see that it's on this webpage, so you could pprolly send them and email and find out.

you just have to post here, or at least tell me when you find out.

The gold wheels look like manaray sport VR-5 188. Look on the takakaira website and you'll see they are only $320 per wheel for 18 in.

Thank you for this post, Mako. I had wondered how the RPM2's would look on my black FD, and this pretty much clinches that I either want a solid black or a silver or even bronze, but that metallic grey-black just seems a little wrong to me against a dark color like MB or black.

You can't beat the price on the RPM2's tho.

FYI, we will have killer deals on the Enkei high performance line of wheels in our vendor section. Keep checking in their for stuff. It's by the RX7store in the vendor section.

Peace, Rishie

those manaray's are damn sick. Me likes a lot. So what's the Yen price on a standard FD setup?

WOW! That's a damn nice wing. What type of wing is that and where can I get one? It's almost like an oversized stock yet stylishly good looking wing!
