Tein SuperStreet or Tein Type Flex
Afternoon all,
Buying one of these during the week.
Car will be used as daily driver and as many track days as possible..
Pick one.. SS or Type Flex (now replaced with Mono Flex, but buying Type Flex).
Thanks
W
Anyone running the type flex?

Are Teins rebuildable around you?
I suggest you read this thread:

Cheers for reply gracer7
I assume one of the engineering shops/ car shops would rebuild them. Never had to get coilovers rebuilt before ( obviously not driving hard enough).
So for those of you with Coilovers, did you change the upper mount to a steel pillow ball??

If you are going to be using this for the any sort of tracking than I would 100% get the flex. IMO tein coilovers are over-rated for the value and you pay a brand premium just to say you have tein coilovers. Better products out there for the money IMO. You can get a nice set of Zeal coilovers for the price of the flex's.

Lots of people have the regular Flex, and it's supposed to be a good street/mild track set-up. It hasn't been replaced by the monotube Flex, they are different models (the latter more aggressive, closer to the Super Race).
I don't know how much evidence there is to say one "nice" Japanese coilover is better than another (i.e.: Tein vs. Zeal) though.

FWIW, I personally run off the shelf Koni shocks with Ground Control coil overs. I can (and have) had the shocks rebuilt (turnaround time was 1.5 weeks) and can easily replace a shock for minimal cost if something happens. The Ground Control kit allows me to easily swap springs since they are quite inexpensive ($59) generic 2.5" race springs. I believe Koni HQ is in the EU somewhere and there are plenty of rebuilders. I think Ohlins has good support in EU also.
Decision is yours though. Check out that thread and do some research.
