Tein rusting?

I heard that the tein will rust over time? How long before it will actually rust? I live in mass and I will be driving the rx7 when there is salt on the road.

If you don't maintain them they WILL eventually rust

you need to apply a coat of antiseize (or any other corrosive/seizing protection compound) to the steel threads, and clean them. and re-apply, at least once a year. so they won't rust or seize..

I had tien HR's on my previous Type R for two years, with no rust or seizing, and I live in vancouver where it rains 70% of the time , plus I slapped on snowy's hiked up the car and when snow plowing, on salty grounds

ive always heard that this problem only affects the type ha and lower models of tein coilovers because they are made of steel while the type ra and more pricey models dont rust because they are aluminum. i think u can just spray down the teins with wd-40 when u put them on and it should be ok

yeah this applies to basically all steel threaded coilovers

Not a good idea, the wd-40 would barley last a week, let alone in bad weather

I just spray some WD40 on when ever I was my car. Its cheap and easy.
