Tein Flex vs. HKS Hipermax vs. Cusco Zero-2E

I know that a lot of people use Tein coilovers and like them but I wanted to look at some other options. So what does everyone think of the HKS Hipermax III and the Cusco Zero-2E systems?

Would they be worth buying over the Tein systems?

Might want to search for past threads on the topic.

And don't forget to consider service-ability. Teins can be serviced in CA if they blow. Not sure if the other are serviceable in the US.

If it were my money I would go with the HKS, hands-down. I think the teins are over-rated, I don't have too much experience with Cusco but haven't heard anything negative about them. HKS products have never let my customers nor me down. Pretty sure you can get the HKS coilovers serviced in the US. Might want to look into Zeal's, I think those are better than any of the options you listed.

from everything i learned over the year with the s2000 and my 240 HKS seem to be the best.

depends on what you using them for? i would look for spring rates more so than different manufacturers.

I couldn't agreed more that what Drezjdmrx7 have said. The spring rates on a coilover can change the behavior of the whole coilover system tremendously.

i got hipermax 3 sport and LOVE THEM. on the soft adjustment they are very comfortable for the street and halfway to the hard adjustment they are just perfect for the track. spring rates 13/10k

Just FYI,

The Flex is Twin tube while the others are monotube.

A better comparison, to help with value objectivity, is Tein Monoflex vs the other 2 models.

Cusco has an official US branch now so it will be interesting to see what kind of services they might offer for their coilovers in the future. Tein has valving services and seems the best in terms of support. HKS I'm not so sure, I am positive you can get damper replacements but not sure about custom valving/rebuilds.

Depending on Budget another great option would be the Zeal Function Xs coilovers which really offers all of the above.

Oh Tein and Cusco will give you the Electronic Damping adjustment from in Cabin. yippeeee, more buttons. lol.

zeal, or those aragosta coils, those are nice as well.
