taking apart two and three piece wheels.

I know this may sound funny but, I want to take my ssr 2 piece wheels apart... any dumb monkey can do that but I want to know what torque should my rim to wheel bolts be put back on at.. .. i wont touch the wheels until i know how they need to be put back together.

I don't know why you would want to do this but, why don't you use the torque wrench to loosen the bolts? You would obviously have to keep re-setting the torque until you find the right torque spec.

It won't be the same coming off as it is going on. They might use thread sealer, for instance, leading you to think they are on with 672 ft-lbs. Contact SSR. Or look up standard torques based on the bolt size and material rating (grade 8, fine thread, 5/16" = X ft-lbs, etc.).

If you used it to loosen the bolts it will throw the calabration off the tourqe wrench, thus rendering it useless, you can get it re calb. anywho my .02

the rims are dirty and need to be cleaned.. and the best way to do it is to take them apart repaint and polish.. people dont upset the balence of wheels because they are bored enough to take them apart. thanks for the helpful comments to those who made them:-)
