T2 Tires... Need help!

How big can I go on the stock rims? I see no reason to waste money on new rims, consider they are light, and are 16 stock. I'd like 245s in the rear and 225s in the front... If not I'll have to go 225s in the rear and 215s in the front right? Thanks alot in advance =)...

Yes, you can fit 245/45s in back, but they are too wide for the stock 7.5 inch rim. It will give you good straight line traction, but your handling will suffer, they will look like this:
/_____\ vs. |____|
besides looking funny, the tread will tend to squirm around under the rim.

I've been running 225/50 Dunlop SP Sport 8000s in back for a while with good results. I've heard from several sources that 225s will fit up front, so the ideal setup for the stock rims would be 225s all around since the car was designed to run the same size tires front & rear.

I run 225/50/16 nitto 450s all around and the front is very close to rubbing but it doesnt. My freind on his t2 with stock rims runs the stock 205/55 in the front and 245/45 in the back, the side walls do ballon out a little but not to bad, but it looks good from behind. I think the 225/50 in the front and 245/45 in the rear will work fine. I am either gonna go with that setup or get 17's this summer when I need new tires.

i actually just put my stock turbo II rims back on. i installed the dunlop sp sport 8000's. 245/45 in the rear and 225/50 in the front.

i do notice what another post mentioned about the handling.
with my 17inch rims on with hard rubber, the car handled like a dream with 5 way adjustables.

i now have my shocks at the hardest postion, and the car feels like **** on turns.
i like the look of wider in the back, but i cant believe its so loss now. i plan on picking up poly bushings and bars.
