Suspension setup? rx7 noob

hey, I was reading over others threads and i have experience with other cars but wondering whta the rx7 community would recommend.
Here are my goals spend less than $1000 (on suspension), improve suspension and overall handeling characteristics.
my last car was a Vw and Koni's were popular amd I only heard nothing but good things about there shock/ struts... I've noticed Kyb and Tokico are the main suppliers to japanese cars? Are these brands of simlar qualities? next i was wondering what springs rates, heights and brands are recommend? Lastly I was curious about wheel size, tire size and offset and ran across this "17" x 8" +27mm offset (+30 to +25 should work) with 225/45/17 up front
17" x 9" +20mm offset (+15 to +30 will work) with 255/40/17 in back" So if i get 15 or 16 just stay keep it about the same size with tires right? Also i was wondering what sort of strut and sway bars you guys like?

well if anyone gets through my novel id really appreciate any input and or if there are any archived threads i missed if you could just give me a link that would be great too.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

My suspension, chassis, and wheel setup (1990 GXL):

Racing Beat Springs
Tokico Illumina (5 way adjustable)
Corksport Strut Bars (front and rear)
16lb 16x7 wheels

I added the springs and struts earlier this year, and I find the overall setup to be firmer AND smoother than the original equipment that had over 150k miles on it. My driving instructor at the road course at the Rotary Revolution was fairly impressed and said the car had good grip and neutral handling.

I consider this setup to be a cross between a street suspension and track suspension. Softer springs (or progressive ones like the Eiback Pro-Kit) with non-adjustable struts would make it more of a pure street setup. Springs with double or triple the spring rate and more expensive double adjustable struts or a fully adjustable coil-over system would be more along the lines of hard core racer.

The information around here on FC suspensions is a bit thin. You may learn some more by looking in the Race Car Tech forum. What kind of suspension do you want? street, race, or a combination

Just saw your other post in this forum. Given that you want a combination street and race suspension for a decent price, I'd recommend you look at the following components:

Struts:
Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustable
KYB AGX 4/8 way adjustable

Springs:
Racing Beat (www.racingbeat.com)
RSR Downspring (http://www.rs-r.com/products/suspens...wn_springs.php)
