Question Suspension Problem?

Hi,

I recently had my suspension height raised slightly and also had new springs installed.

Ever since this was done I've notice my car randomly pulls to the right. I jacked up my car today and noticed one of the small suspension arms seems to be at a wierd angle on the drivers side.

Ive uploaded some pics can someone have a look and see if this might be causing my problem?

Im pretty sure this is not meant to look like this:

Heres another pic from the top:

Heres a pic of the same part on the passenger side, looks a lot straighter:

Thanks
Paul

Hi

I think alignment adjustment is needed.
Basically, as for FD, you don't have to adjust alignment after height change.
But most FD bushings are worn out.
Stock bushings are made of just rubber.
Then, alignment can go wrong easily.

You most certainly DO have to adjust aligment after a height change....

Make sure the sway bar (the thing those links are connected to) is centered in the car. If it slides over to one side, the links will start to be angled funny. There should be collars to keep the bar centered, otherwise it will quickly become uncentered again. If you bar is not in the right place, you could have bent sway bar mounts (common problem) or the little collars to keep it centered may have simply moved so that they are no longer doing their job.

Looks to me like your passenger side sway bar mount is bent; the driver's side looks fine. With the mount bent the bar moves back and makes the drop link take on that weird angle. It also preloads the sway bar which will make the front end pull. The alignment can be perfect but the preload in the sway bar will force more corner weight onto one side and the car will pull towards that side.

To be certain disconnect the sway bar and see if the pull goes away. If it does you found what's wrong.

Sorry forgot to say this is a JDM Rx7 so it is the driver side that looks bent.

Also think it must be the sway bar mount that is bent as I had a 4 wheel laser alignment done yesterday and it made no difference to the steering pull!

Will try disconnecting the sway bar tomorrow and hopefully it will go away.

Thanks for the help

Paul
