Suggestions for vert suspension

I have a 91 convertible with 91,000 miles on it and the original stock suspension. It rides and handles like a 1973 Cadillac right now. I am wanting to replace the struts with KYB AGX set and I'm wondering how important it is to replace the stock springs. Do they really wear and "loosen up" over time/mileage or not? I am having a tough time finding some good aftermarket springs, and the stock replacements from Mazdatrix are going to be around $400 buck for the set which seems a little pricey to me just for OEM springs. I am not using this car for track driving, autocrossing, or anything else outside of the norm so I don't need to have anything elaborate. I just want it to ride and handle as well or better than stock.

Let me know what you guys think about whether they should really be replaced or not, and if so suggestions on what springs other than OEM's. I already looked for Racing Beat Springs for a vert and they don't exist.

I would get Eibach. The biggest difference is in the sway bars. I'd keep the stock springs and spend the money on your bars. You'll be so happy with the ride and the improved handling of the bars and the AGX's.

I'm sure they will fit it's just that the weight in the rear of the vert must be more so I'm not sure if the rear will sag more than the front.

Thanks for the input. I was kind of thinking the same thing about the sway bars.

The vert springs are apparently different because of the weight difference of the car. I would be afraid to order the Racing Beat springs that are listed as "except convertible" and then get everything back together and have the ***-end sagging.

If you like the ride height right now then I would just purchase KYB AGX struts that are dampening adjustable and a nice set of sway bars. You'll be outrageously happy. Keep the stock springs.
