stock fd wheel widening?

stock fd wheel widening?

does anyone widen the stock fd wheels? i have a set i want to get powercoated and everything but the rears id like to widen an inch.. but not sure if its even possible.. does anyone know or know of a place that does this?

It's possible, but it's not cheap. You would be better off just getting aftermarket 17" wheels in the long run. Wide tires in 16" are getting hard to come by unless they are a full race tire.

there are places that do them... but you're likely going to also have to use a spacer, since FD wheels are high offset, and you can only widen to the back. One place I remember is one called "Green's Automotive" in Canada. Don't have a link anymore.

It's going to be probably at least $200+/wheel. You add in powder coating for all four and two decent spacers and/or longer studs, and you just bought yourself some wheels.

That, and after all that, they'll STILL be 16" wheels with few tire choices to exploit the investment. The only size you could likely use is 265/45/16, and at least on Tire Rack there's only two choices and both are track tires. Those probably won't be around forever either.

Trust me, I went through this whole thought process about 5-8 years ago.
