Starting to look at tires
With my build starting in March, I’ve started to look around at wheel figment and tires options. I already have wheels, RE30 17/8.5+40 front and 17/9.5+42 rear.
I believe I can run 245/40s up front and 265/35 in the rear.
im interested in the A052's but the sizing would be 245/40 and 255/40. My vehicle curtly has a spring set up similar to the R2 setting. In the future I will most likely go with coil overs.
my questions are is anyone base the A052's in the sizes I listed? If so what is your input on them.
2nd question is what tire options should be available in my preferred size that are a good street/track tire not worrying about rain and does not need heat up requirements beyound street driving?
last is, my wheel specs should alow for good fitment for tire sizing I’m thinking about correct?

For street/track, check out the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500’s. I got them for my DD, 06 STI and I’m on my second set. Surprising for their price. Grippy without needing to be warmed up, and surprisingly grippy in the rain to the point where my STI doesn’t even want to break loose in the rain. I’ve recommended them to friends and they love them.

I recently ordered a set of wheels and went through this same dilemma your are facing. I ended up with a set of 245/40/18 and 265/23/18 Michelin PSC2.
I'm coming from RE-71R on OEM 16s (really bummed they discontinued that tire). Other tires I seriously considered were the A052 and AD08. Seemed like those and other 200 DOT tires seemed to be biased towards autox or track days. In other words heated up fast and got greasy or needed more heat to get grip (no experience, only what I gathered from online reviews). My driving style is mostly to and from car shows, spirited weekend cruise, and hopefully a track day or two a year. I felt the Michelin's were the best tire ready for any occasion. I've got the tires, wheels should be here in a few weeks and will be able to report back then. GL!

I've been playing around on Falken Azenis for years. They are the bang-for-the-buck king, in my opinion.
EDIT: Also if you square up the wheels (all four same size and offset) you can easily rotate the tires and make 'em last longer.
