SSR GT2 9.5 x 18, 265/35-18

Looks like Tire Rack has another option for FD owners looking for a lightweight wheel in a wide width x 18 diameter with an offset that will work all the way around.

Check out the SSR GT2. Estimated availability is 16 April.

I suggest using the optional rear fitment all the way around, since the offset is perfect at 50 mm.

The only two tires that will work well are the Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico in 265/35-18 OE Porsche N3 size, and the Continental Sport Contact 2 in 265/35-18 OE Porsche N2.

The P-Zero is 25.1 inches in overall diameter. Width is on the portly side, at 11 inches when mounted on 9.5 wide wheels.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...em+Asimmetrico

The Conti Sport Contact 2 is 25.3 inches in overall diameter. Width is a more conservative at 10.4 inches when mounted on 9.5 wide wheels.

Price for the 9.5 x 18, 50-mm offset SSR GT1 is $490 each

I guess I have wheel envy again...it never ends...sigh

A set of 5 GT2s and P-Zeros (5 b/c I run a full-size spare for open track events) is $3900.35. This is with tires mounted, road-forced balanced, and shipped to Indy from South Bend (ground).

I guess I'll be charging for any and all wheel offset advice from now on--so don't be surprised if I don't reply to your PM asking for offset advice, unless you're ready to shell out some dough LOL

Haha, Manny, I just saw those on Tire Rack's site yesterday and I thought to myself -- "I wonder how long it is before Manny posts about wanting these?"

The wheels look great, I wonder how much they weigh. Not that it matters, I'm riding on the Enkei RP-01s for a while now.....(review coming)

BTW, any 265/35 tire should work with those. I'm running 235/40 up front (25.4") and my car is low - 25" to top of fender. No rubbing so far of either the liner or the fender lip, but I haven't tracked the car yet with the new setup.

Yeah...didn't take long LOL

The GT2s are SSF process ("Semi Solid Forged" process), so they'll be light enough with strength (since I'll use them on the street).

Yeah, I'm hoping. It's amazing how tire dimensions differ betwen brands, eventhough the sizes are supposed to be the same?

Just called Tire Rack. The SSR GT2s aren't expected to arrive until June 1. They have no weight data, until the wheels arrive.

I wonder if any of the new SSRs (the GT7 or the GT2) have that 10.5" wide fitrment available like on the comps?

Awh...c'mon, Pete. I've got 370 rwhp, and am willing to settle for 265/35-18 on 9.5 wides, so I can run same size all around LOL FWIW, the GT7s are ugly. They remind of me NSX wheels LOL. GT2s are much better-looking, and functional. Bright silver paint means it's easy to match with touch-up paint if you curb rash any of the GT2s.

I'm testing and tuning @ the drag strip tomorrow with my current 255/40-17s on 9 wides. I'll post my timeslips.

i think the GT7s are great looking... just like the 7 spoke Prodrive GC07Cs i posted a while back... i think the odd numbers (like 5 and 7) look better than 6-spoke like the comps or TE73s.

Silver wheels are tricky on a silver car, I always thought my integrals looked rather plain, though they look great on all of my friends red cars... i either want machine finish like my Fikses, or a darker one like the BBS RG-R or GT7s

Wow, if you could get them in the SBC finish, i'd be all over them...

note the 10.5 +45

Also note the GT7 isn't on the speed star site. !0 bucks says they are rebadged GC07Cs.

Caveat emptor (buyer beware). These are Japan domestic market versions, and aren't available in the United States. GT2 US versions come as Tire Rack offers them, 8.5 wide, 42 offset, and 9.5 wide 50 offsets.

Tire Rack is developing an annoying habit of not importing all of the sizes/finishes available, ala RG-R, etc.

The GT2 in silver with machined lip comes in 17 inch diameters.

with the 17x9 wheel at 48,000 yen, that would be 453 USD. which is pretty high in price

Yeah, so Tire Rack's price of $490 each for 9.5 x 18 GT2s (50-mm offset) is about right?

Nice looking wheel, but I hope the Rack offers them in a 17' size.

You sure they're GT2s, not GT1s?

The GT2's are very clean. I just wish they came in 17". I'm so tired of all these 18" and 19" rims coming out. What kind of suspensions are these people running? Marshmallow and jello?

Question Center cap or no center cap

I think the GT2s look better WITHOUT the center cap?

I don't know about without. all that will do is expose that nasty looking hub bolt. I agree that SSR could do better than those center caps that look like they were sourced from a 4x4 shop.

Probably not. We'll see once they come in off of the boat. New target date is June 16 for the 9.5 wides.

You took my advice...Well, you have to find some way to pay for those wheels! what are your rates
?...BTW I found the wheel I want. Volk GL 57F Pro....After seeing them on Ihor's car I had to have them.

P.S. Does that mean you will be liable if the wheels don't fit if you are charging now?
