SSR Comps/AFMKT Wheel Alignment

Hey, where do all of you go to get your 7's aftermarket wheels aligned. Many places dont' do 17's or if they do they told me it would scratch the rims.

Thanks,
Frank

BTW, if you know of any place in Maryland or Virginia area I'd appreciate it.

Hey Frank, how are the wheels? I have enountered this problem many times. I would suggest that you put your stock wheels back on the car for alignment purposes, hopefully you kept them. This is what I do. The mechanic, if doing a proper alignment will align them the same. I always have my customers do their suspension, then align it, then put the wheels on. A little more work, but no scratches. The other alternative is a high end shop, like Bimmer shops, certain places have machines that will not scratch the rims, as all the cars they work on have them.

Good luck, Rishie

Hey rishie,

thanks for looking out. The rims are SWEET!

I found a place that had a 3d laser alignment machine after calling several places. It cost 109.00 to get it down, but it was well worth it than having to put on the stock wheels since the ssr width difference would make it off a little.

Now, i just got to move out of pot ridden baltimore!

btw, one quick question, does that copper ring have to be there (behind the wheel holding the spacers). It fell off and I didnt' bother putting it back on, as I didnt' think it would make much of a difference?

Thanks,
Frank

You still placed the hubcentric ring, "not a spacer" per say, in the centerbore of the wheel, right? What you're refferring to is the
C-clamp thing that's used to hold it onto the wheel, correct? I think you will be fine, so long as the rings are in there. You definitely want the rings so as to remove the load off the lugs.

Thanks and good luck,

Rishie
