Need advice on spring rates. I currently have 575 lb Hypercoils on the front and 325 lb on the back with Koni Yellows that are double adjustable. I have an extra set of 700 lb Hypercoils that I got for autox. I have to take the front suspension off and am considering putting the 700 lb on to see how bad they will be for street driving. Does anyone have springs this stiff on for street driving? I know they will be bad, but want to know if I will be wasting my time even trying them for street use. Opinions? Also- has anyone tried Hyperco's hydraulic spring perches?

If the shocks are valved to match the spring rates, the street ride quality can be tolerable. If not, then the ride quality will suffer substantially. But, to keep things in perspective ... a well setup auto-x car is more than likely not going to be comfortable on the street (unless your local roads are well kept and flat).

I believe my JICs are 9xx in front and 8xx in the rear. They are about as tolerable as my ST spring/Tokiko HP setup I previously had, although they're much more fragile.

If you are talking about the stock JIC FLT-A2s, they come with 670/500 springs. What do you mean by "fragile"? Have you already blown out a damper?

Ronardt: I would stick with the 575 up front, which some would argue is too stiff already. I think the only thing the 700 lb spring will give you is a worse ride and more understeer.

rynberg- I guess I was asking queston I already knew the answer to, but was wishing for someone to offer me some hope. Anyone want to buy some new 700 lb springs?
