soft/hard spring rate??

in the next few weeks im going to be purchasing some kyb's ,Tokico, and RS*R Race spring. now the question is...would a soft spring rate in the front (for Gripping) , and a Hard Spring rate in the rear( so i could lose traction)( Its and FC) be any good to drift with?????thnx in advance.

this is my opinion and it will always be different for people because people learn how to slide differently. I would say yes that is how I started out. for the reason of it making easier to swing the tail end out. Also try crappier tires in the back this is to get you use to losing the back end (and also cheaper being that you are just burning cheap rubber). However Know eventually the gap in spring rates between front and rear will lessen as you progress so unless you can adjust springrate expect to be buying another set. because as you get better it becomes less of an issue getting into the drift as it is keeping it and controling it. I'm sure someone else would probably disagree but this is simply from my experience and my approach. some will argue why waste your time master drift at what your car is. I on the other hand learn from difference and comparison. so I learned stock. then stif rear and loose front. and am now moving into a more balanced setup. I'm no master and just doing this for fun so please just take what I say as suggestion sure there are more experienced drifters on here that can give better advice.

Grip rates, I'd go something between 400 and 300 in-lb.
Drift, I'd go a lot stiffer...something like 600 to 500.
These are front rates.
Drop the rates slightly for the rear.

I can tell you that with half a degree neg toe in the rear will make the rear end come out easily. I didnt have time to do my alignment after i did my trailing arm bushings and its was crazy how the rear end would just kick out.
