slight restoration - painting springs?

Maybe this is a dumb question, I dunno.
Picked up a nice set of Racing Beat springs (thank you, Nick!) for my FB. They are in pretty good shape, but do have a few chips and areas where the red paint is coming off. Knowing that these do flex ... is there some paint that I could use that would hold up? I was thinking high - heat spray paint, but I guess flex is the greatest danger to the paint coming off of these over time. Thoughts?

the RB stuff is like a candy shell or something, its odd. i've seen people just paint springs with paint, and it seems to work fine

It is odd. The springs look really good, there is just a tiny amount of surface rust where that coating has popped off. I figured I should go ahead and address that. I suppose I could just use sandpaper to feather the edges of that coating where it's popped off and repaint them. But, I didn't want the new paint to just flake off right away.
