Which size is better for handling 215/50x16 or 225/50x16

NY Which size is better for handling 215/50x16 or 225/50x16

Have a 89 gxl with the T2 rims 16x7 on it. looking to get new tires which size would be better for handling or are they around the same. 225/50x16 or 215/50x16

I don't think there will be day and night difference between the two but for that wheel size 215 should be sufficient and a touch better for fuel economy. As for handling, in theory 225 will have more cushion feel and 215 will be more direct (again the difference will be small). What's more important in those sizes is not the sizes but the brand and quality of the tyre. Put the emphasis on the tyre quality cause both sizes will handle fine.

yea im going for a ultra high performance tire i was looking at the kuhmos or general uhp's. will the 225 fit on the 7 inch wheel fine plus my car is lowered dont want it to rub
