Does anyone out there have the silk road setup on their FD? comments? likes? dislikes? They are relatively cheap, and look to be good quality. I'm shooting for a street/road track setup, are they suitable? Are they too harsh for street driving on shitty CA roads?

I have yet to ride in an FD with them. But I have road in FCs with them. And the ride is not bad at all, as long as it is setup properly. I the spring rates I have rode with are 8/6, 8/8 and 10/8. The 8/8 felt the best overall. BTW I really doubt your roads are worse then PA roads. We get HUGE potholes here all the time. I got my set for my FC from Japan, and I could pick whatever springs I wanted, and at the time they were offering an extra set of springs free. The spring rate is what is really going to determine the ride quality. You could always get a few sets and swap them.

Mostly likly I will be getting another set of them for myself, like I said I had them for my FC but sold them cause I bought and FD. At about $1200 plus shipping (I think it is $1400 shipped/insured from Japan) they are a great price. And the quality is top notch. I have yet to hear one complaint about them.

^ Okay, so does anyone have silk roads coilovers on their cars? FC, FD, it dosen't matter, I'm just looking for what the overall improvement was on the cars handling and stability, as well as opinions on the adjustability of ride height and dampening (is it compression and rebound, or just one setting you adjust?).

 

I have a little info on my site but very little. It isn't easy finding info on these. I can tell you that they are not double adjustable. It is one **** for compression and rebound. I hope to see some people buy these and post feedback. They look good and I have heard that people with other cars have had great luck with them.

Seriously, my only complaint (for the FCs) is the front struts are a pain to adjust the dampers (adjusted from the bottom), depending on the ride height you have set you need the tool to adjust it (or small fingers).

As for the ride quality is is a HUGE difference from stock!! The roads in PA suck, and I did not mind the bumpy ride, by adjusting the dampening rate it can smooth it out quite a bit. Spirited driving it is nice and tight, although like ANY coilover or shock/spring combo if you lower the car you will develop bumpsteer. To combat that you will either need to relolcate the tie rod spindle (reweld) OR get the SuperNow! Super angle kits. I recommend the angle kits, it removes bumpsteer and increases you steering angle, and anyone can replace tie rod ends!
