Searching for cheapest solution to better tires on a four bolt FC.
I NEED wider tires.... Preferably in a reasonable profile. I'm used to driving larger cars with 255/45/17s, and now I'm driving these tiny phone dials around. I want to go 16 or 17. I read in an archive that Fox Mustang wheels fit the same bolt pattern, but that's incorrect (would have been perfect too since my girlfriend wants to get new rims for her GT). Are there any other cars that really do share a bolt pattern with the 4 bolt FCs? I don't want to put a whole lot of money into the rims. Do they make plain stamped steel rims for 16s?
What is the cheapest solution to decent aspect ratios?

A suggestion to you may be to find someone w/ a wrecked FC 5-bolt that may be willing to sell you the front and rear hub assemblies and what not, for cheap. I know it's a bit of work for some, but if you want to at least put 15inch stockers on it, you gotta change the hubs, and sky is the limit on available rims for the 5 bolts. It's an idea..

Yeah, I'd love to have 5 lugs per wheel, and 4 pot calipers...
But I got the car for 50 bucks... I want it to be my track car. I know I'm not going to be running 12s unless I convert to turbo, but all I want in the meantime is a wider tread and a lower profile. I'm about to break down and buy a set of American Eagles locally ($95 each). I just don't feel right spending 4 times more on the wheels, brakes, etc. than the car cost me.
