Rubbing top inside fender liner

Guys,

I need some advice here.

I recently replaced my shocks and springs. Went with H&Rs with Tokico Illuminas vs Racing beat. Running 17 X 8 38mm (225/45) and 17 X 9 38mm (255/40)

For some reason, these H&Rs don't ride as harsh as the racing beat. Not complaning but I thought since these are 25-30% stiffer than stock and the racing beat is only 7% it would be the other way around.

The main reason I replaced the racing beat was because my driver side tires would rub on the inside liner when I'm making a hard right turn. Thinking that these H&Rs are stiffer would eliminate this problem but, no luck. Still rubbing.

So my questions are:

1. What do I need to do to fix this. Only the driver side is rubbing which is about 3/8" lower than the passenger side.?

2. How did you install these springs?. I installed the rear with the text upside down so I did the same thing with the front. The rear spring had a small and a bigger dia which tells me they are progressive? I did it this way because the small dia sits better onto the shock. The front appears to be the same dia all around so I installed it like the rear.

3. Would another alignment setting fix this? If so any settings that are good on the track and still provide a decent tire wear.

try a lower profile front tire, 235/40 or 225/40 instead of 45s

I like the azenis rt615 and they don't carry 235/40. 225/40 it too small.

Anyone else have input?

I'm running the same setup and i also had this issue. my fix was to make some packers that snap over the shock shaft so that the car will ingage the bump rubber sooner, there by reducing the rub

Did you replace your upper shock mount? The spring tends to dig into the rubber after time which may be the reason your car is sitting uneven.

Maybe because the FD is a low car to begin with, and springs lower it even more, bringing the tire closer to the inner fender well.

I'd try new upper mounts, and/or adding to the bump stops.

I have same springs with Bilstein HD. With 17x9 up front on 245/40; no rubbing.
