Question Rishie, can you source BuddyClub and Advan?

Perhaps my wheel choice has been answered. I'm planning to run 4 x 255/40-17 and based on SleepR1's help, I'm looking @ a 17x9.0 w/ 45-50mm offset. The only non-custom build wheels are the BuddyClub P1 Racing, P1 Racing II, and Advan Model6.

P1 Racing

P1 Racing II

Advan Model6

Can you get me a price on these (17x9 w/ 45mm offset)? Also see if you can find out their weight.

TIA!

9 x 17 with 255/40-17, 45 mm offset

Not meaning to take business away from Rishie here, but Tire Rack offers the SSR Integrals in 9 x 17, 45 mm offset, for $289 each. The SSRs are 18.5 lbs each. Sadly Hoosier doesn't make a 255/40-17 size, so you'll need to use 245/40-17s. Hoosier 275/40-17s need a minimum of 9.5-inch wide rim widths. I believe Tire Rack still has a few 255/40-17 BFG G-Force R1s in stock (very low stock though). Go for the R1A, as those are slightly lighter and much more suitable for lightweight cars like our FDs. Those Buddy Clubs look identical to the Kosei K1 Racing wheels I used to have in 8.5 x 16s. They were also very light at 16 lbs each!

Thx Manny,

I'm sticking to Kumho V700s...they have 255/40-17. Hoosiers wear too fast where we compete (it's a concrete surface like Topeka).

My first choice would be the P1 Racing II, then Advan Model6, then the P1 Racing. Kosei is identical to the P1 Racing but I don't think they offer the proper sizes that Buddy Club does. And I'm avoiding the SSRs...just a personal preference.

Tires and Wheels

Yeah, I know Hoosiers don't last, but if you want to win, they're the best thing going

I'm not crazy about Kumho Victoracers. They're too damned heavy (footed). They suit classic American ground pounders, but not our lithe, fleet-footed FDs! Ever weigh a 255/40-17 Victoracer? It'll tip the scales at 30 lbs! I'd try Toyo RA-1s in 255/40-17. Much lighter construction, with weights in the 26-lb range for the size you want. Leave the Toyos at 8/32ds tread depth for maximum usable life.

For low speed stuff, concrete IS tough on tires; there's no real time for the tires to generate any heat. Your rubber just ends up being like a soft pencil eraser to construction paper! With about 4 of 5 hard strokes, the eraser is GONE! Out on the high speed stuff, concrete sections of the racing surface is where the traction is! With the tires nice and warm, even street tires feel pretty sticky on concrete!

What's wrong the SSR Integral A2s? $289 per wheel in such a huge size and for a forged construction is a STEAL in my book! Aesthetically it's no better-looking or worse-looking than your other choices. Perhaps you just want to run the latest and greatest...you wanna with STYLE at Topeka

You think you can beat the Lotus driver that won last year's nationals in ASP?

Try Callling Shine Street in Carson CA. 310/329-6200 I think they are a Buddy Club shop as well as 5 Zigen and Sparco.

They are actually an export company to Japan...you know those guys who send all the low riders and american stuff to japan. But they are also an HKS dealer and some other stuff.

I was there a week ago and they were unloading a Lancer EVO VI off a container.
