Rims for my FD

Hey everyone, I was just wondering, what are the widest rims anyone has run on their fd? I want to buy rims, but I want them to go wide IN not with cheap spacers that make the car look horrible, kind of wanna get the vette look going there, maybe fit 275's or 265's in the back. Im interested in the BMW style rims on highline wheels. the link is http://highlinewheels.wheelize.com/o...uctDetails.asp and itsunder the 1999 bmw m3 rims. I was wondeirng If I can go that wide, like 18 x 8.5 and if those rims will hold 265's or 275's in the back, also, I won't be a daily racer, but I will be punching it once in a while, will this affec my performance, thanks for your help everyone.

Might be better asked in the rims/tires/suspension section.

I run 17x9 up front with 245s and 17x10 with 275s. The fenders are barely rolled and the car is lowered quite a bit and doesn't rub. I'm not sure if beemer wheels will fit the FD correctly though. On a 8.5" wide rim I would run a 255/40 or maybe 265 with a small sidewall like 35. series.

i had 275's. they just barely stick out in certain parts. It looked really sick though. I wouldnt go any bigger than that.

BMWs have a different bolt pattern, so wheels made for them won't work on FDs.

With the stock suspension you can run 9-9.5" wide wheels up front and up to 10" wide wheels in back, provided they are the proper offsets.

BTW, you should not mount a 265 series tire on a 8.5" wide rim, it's not recommended and it won't provide ideal handling either. I wouldn't go above a 245 width tire on a 8.5" wheel.

OK, but what was your offset? That's what is the key here.

Are you running a 245/40 or 245/45 front tire with the 275/40 back tire? (i assume you are talking about 17" wheels)

How does that look with the diameter difference? Have any more pics, like a goos side view?

I'm running 245/40 and 275/40 with 41 and 44 offsets. M2 trailing arms and toe links and Tein coilovers.

Here are some pics, the car is lower now

Well, for one thing, those tires are WAY too tall. You should be running 245/35 18s, not 245/45 18s. As AMRAAM4 pointed out, the offsets of your wheels may come into play as well.
