This is no help, bu try the suspension forum. Rishi (ARD T2) is a big help with everything.

Oh yeah, I've heard of 19x10" on an FD, but why? Super heavy and a little oversized...

The biggest i would go is 9x19, the tires will stick out from the fenders if you go any wider unless you have fender flares

Cool Big Wheels

If you just want to be a poser you can go 19"x10" but if you still want to maxmize performance don't go any larger that 18s.

Uh, i think you meant to respond to the other guys post about rims and not start a new thread. But anyway Advan makes some kick *** rims that are light and the look really nice especially in 19x9

If you go with some 19X9's wouldn't it make more sense to save the dough and go with an 18x10? Those look a hell of a ton better.

Dude!!! Go with some Volk Racing GTC's in an 18x9 in front and 18x10's in the rear. Then do a little of the shave, shave and you should be good to go. You'll love'em, they gotts lip!

19s are generally too big in any width in my opinion, but not everyone has the same goals. The only reason to get 19s is for looks. Be sure to choose tire sizes before you order the wheels. You could fit 24" wheels on the car, but you wouldn't have any room for tires.

Thumbs up 19's or 20's, Can go either

Alright you fit either 19 or 20 inch rims and they look real good but are only good for looks and straight line runs, no circuit work! Keep stockers with slicks for that!

A few of my buddies have them there FD'S and the sizes are as follows:

20 x 8 with 245/35/20 front & 265/40/20 rear
19 x 8 front with 235/35/19 & 19x 9 rear with 275/30/19
19 x 8 front with 245/35/19 & 19x 9 rear with 285/30/19

The car with 20's and one with 19's with 245 fronts run no inner guards on front as they scrub on plastic when trying to use full lock. Also all front guards have been lipped to increase clearance on full lock!

Car with 19's and 235 front runs inner gaurd and only scrubs just on full lock with no guard lipping required!

There are many styles to choose from and it comes down to your taste! All my buddies run the polished look wheels that look real nice. Look at link below to see what it looks like!

Hope this helps you out, let me know how you go with it and post some pics when you do it!

Max is RIGHT

19s and 20s are way too "bling bling" for an FD Rx7.

Don't bastardize the car's intended purpose by "pimping out" the FD Rx7 with polished 20-inch wheels.

This is the Tech and Performance board, not the bling bling board--get it??

Well I agree from a performance standpoint that 19's are too big. **** even 18's are too big for true performance unless acheiving the Cooper fitment. lol.

Although, each individual has their own intent for their own vehicle so I will give fitment accordingly.

You can do 19,10 or 19,9 and that's the way to go. Try to get a +45 or higher offset. You'll run a 275/30/19 tire which is a little oversized and a 235/35/19 up front on an 8-9" wheel. This will keep your outer diameters the same. We're talking about 0.5" taller than stock. That's quarter inch on top and another on the bottom. Effectively raising your vehicle that much and eliminating that much fender gap on the top.

DON'T FORGET, IT'S ALL ABOUT OFFSET.

I have 19's on my FD and I don't think they look big at all. With a full body kit and lowered about 2", they look perfect. I know 19's is all show but I don't autocross my FD and when I do go drag race, I use different wheels anyways. Even then I could still waste anything on the road with my 19's or without. So yeah, it's all show much it doesn't take ALL the performance away

I have 19x9f, and 19x10r. And 245/35/19f, 275/30/19

Depends on the width of the wheel. You'd want at least +45 in a 9". With narrower widths (8", 8.5"), you can go lower w/the offset.

BTW, did you know you pulled up a thread over 2 years old???

If you can tell me the width of the wheels and their offsets, I can tell you if they will fit or not.

BTW, here's a handy page:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Put in the size of the stock wheel and tire, then put in the size of the wheel and tire you're considering, and if the sizes overlap or underlap by a good margin, then you'll know they won't work. It's easy as pie.
