Rim Width/Tire offset: Rynberg PLEASE help

Hey Rynberg,

Sorry man, I don't mean to keep bothering you, but I still have a few questions and since I'm ordering the rims probably this coming week I need to have solid answers.

Well I've come to the decision that I would like to have 265/30/19 in the front with a 10" width and 315/25/19 in the rear with an 11" width. Since I heard that tire sizes make a difference in the offset, could you please tell me if Rishie's original numbers of +25 offset in the front and +35 in the rear will work? Would the aforementioned rim sizes/widths allow the rims to be flush with the fender walls. Again, assume that the fenders will increase both the front and rear by 1 inch. Thanks Rynberg, I REALLY appreciate all the help.

Riz

P.S. - I tried PM'ing you, but your inbox was full, hopefully you'll get a chance to look at this.

I would still run a tad more conservative up front...+30 to +35 offset. +35 should work at the rear, but +38 would be slightly more conservative.

Of course, these recommendations assume that the fenders are actually 1-inch wider inside.

just curious. why are you running just 265 up front, while running 315 in the rear. will the create any issues? i'm no tire expert. just for my own learning.
i know a lot of people are run 285 tires with a 10" wide wheel.

He's running 19" wheels, not 18". Very limited 19" sizing to maintain close to stock diameter.

I have a quick question, if it ok to jump in....I was wondering if 225/40 18 on a 18x8 wheel with +32 offset will fit on without modification?

Hey Rynberg, I finalized my order for the rims. I ended up going with 19x10" in the front with a 35 mm offset because I was told the front fenders only gave a half inch increase in width. For the rear the increase was measured to be a full 1 inch, so I decided to go with 19x11" with a 41 mm offset. Do these numbers seem good to you? The person I spoke to at the wheel shop was very knowledgeable and suggested these offsets for the sizes would be good. Any input? Thanks.

^ thats cool. Your car looks good. The rims look like they fit just right to me. Before I sold my rims they sat similar to that, except were a little bit wider and I never had any rubbing issues, unless I turned the wheel completely before I actually moved.

Rynberg: My question is two posts up. Just don't want you to look it over thinking it was already answered. Thanks.

I think you're going to be VERY tight up front. I think you're going to have to run a conservative ride height to clear 265/30 19s.

The rear should clear the fenders no problem...might need aftermarket trailing arms to clear at the inside though. It will be VERY close.

Well, i might as well jump in, too...

I've been considering 5zigen fn01r-c wheels in 17" diameters. I was going to go with 17x9" w/ 43mm offset all around as i *know* that they'll fit, but they also have 17x10" wheels in 35 offset for the rear that, at first, i thought wouldn't fit, but after putting in jimlab's wheel spreadsheet it says they'll rub the outer fender by .1" with 275/40-17 tires and would be fine on the inside. If i rolled my fenders it should take care of that .1" and fit ok, right? Does anyone know anyone else who is running this size wheel with this offset?

Just FYI, i plan on using 255/40-17 up front with either 255/40-17 in rear with 9" wheel or 275/40-17 in rear with 10" wheel. Some minor rubbing up front would be ok as i have very stiff spring rates, smaller spring diameters and you never get to full lock on a track (hopefully! ). I like the balance of using the same width tire all around, but if i go to BNR Stage 3 turbos next year i'm thinking i'd like the traction coming out of turns, even if it does result in a slight understeer situation.

Thanks!

PS I'll be happy to go start my own thread if you feel like i'm hijacking yours. But it seems like you got everything worked out...and good luck with your wheels.

I was told if I rolled the fenders up front it would create slightly more room. Would that possibly help with the close fitment up front? Right now my car is dropped only 1 inch in front, is that conservative enough or would I possibly need to go back to stock ride height up front? If you have any other sugesstions just let me know. Thanks, Rynberg.

It's cool, I guess. I don't understand though why you wouldn't just a create a seperate thread to ask about your fitment. There's never too many new threads in this subsection so I doubt it will be overlooked.

Yeah, it's going to be one of those situations where you're just going to have to mount them and see how it goes....wait, are we still talking about wheels?

Woa....quick response. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I really just want these to have a great fitment considering the amount I'm spending on them. And yes, we're STILL talking about wheels .
