Revised Tein HA's?

Revised Tein HA's?
Well after installing a set of Tein HA coilovers on my FD I went back to read the past threads I could find on them because I could have sworn they are 16way adjustable shocks. But my shocks have 24 settings from soft to hard. And aside from that I read on how a few people had experienced rust on the threads of the shock body. Well I guess Tein got wind of that because the threads on mine are stainless it appears, they are definitely not a mild steel that would rust. Just curious if anyone can confirm any of these observations? Other than that I give them a thumbs way up, very happy with them so far.. even cruising around with 12 front and 8 rear is comfortable for me. Making the rears any firmer than 10 busts your kidneys on the street.

The Tein HA's I got last month have 24 settings and maybe you can tell from these pics if my threads are SS too?!?

My threads look the same. I'm assuming they're 16 way adjustable...never really ran them up to 16! Tein does have the new Flex model as well. Do both of yours say HA on the bottom?

Hey Guys
Are you running these HA with the stock rates quoted on Teins website 559 Front/448 Rear and have you had any problems with bottoming out in turns or over rough roads?
Thanks\

I am running the stock spring rates they come with, I have mine turned down to 8 front and 6 rear, 8 being 8 clicks up from full soft. Even that is a bit rough at times on these pitiful LA roads, I have never bottomed out on these. In fact I think I am going to go set them even softer for the ride home, my interior is getting rattled to pieces.. well, slight exxageration there.

That's only cause it's a way better suspension than the HA's. But it bumps you up another $400.00. However paying that amount to get something twice as good and with twice as much tunability is awesome.
It's amazing in the FD. I did the FC GTUs also and that was amazing. As well as the WRX, IS300, 3000GT VR-4, 300ZX, and JZA80 supra. Also the GS400 and so on. We've done all the good applications and am extremely impressed by the JIC. However Tein makes a good inexpensive suspension. It's much easier to set ride height and corner weight the FLT-A2's than it is the Tein HA's or that type of threaded body.

JIC FLT A2 suspension has been re-valved and spring rates changed to work better on american roads. not jdm spec unless specially ordered.
with 8 clicks from soft and its too stiff then that would leave you with 16 more useless clicks! (24 way) why even have it? Just made for greedy americans who want more than they could possibly use. The people who fall for this marketing ploy are really just suckered into it. 24 way twin tube design. still twin tube design, 1950's technology. still ride height adjust from spring perch means too low ride height = bad ride and possible bottom out of dampener due to lack of suspension travel. HA is not great just o.k. don't be fooled by some chest thumpin' tarzan who wants to reafirm his descision to buy average stuff. make sure you do your homework before you waste over a thousand bucks on suspension.
of course people that own HA's claim they are the best cuz they are proud of what they got... that is cool but don't be a sheep... be a wolf and eat up the sheep in the corner.

haha I thought I broke mine at first.
I set them all the way hard and kept turning them softer and driving around. Well finally I wanted to set it all the way soft and they went to 18 clicks and freaked me out cause it's only suppose to be 16.

The HA's are advertised as 16-way adjustable as are all of their adjustable shocks (I think).
I didn't know they were twin-tube. I just checked and, for the RA's, they advertise "single rod structure". Does anyone know if this is just a translation issue and really means monotube?
I had been considering the RE's for a track only car. They are supposed to allow preload adjustment separate from ride height. Otherwise they are the same 'single rod structure' as the RA's.
Can anyone point me to a place that lists the technical specs for the JIC?
