repairing ssr rs8

hi, I want to repair my ssr rs8 rims (more than repair them, clean them, repaint them, etc) and i have a problem. I removed the 16 bolts of the rim and the 2 pieces are still together.... there is another thing that i have to do to separate them?
thanks

Go after 'em with a rubber mallet.

I am also disassembling my Work VS-SS. I took out all the bolts and the center disk still stuck. Try hammer it with rubber mallet and it still won't seperate. Anyone has suggestion how to remove it?

I think the rim shells and the centres are shrunk fit together.

Meaning they place the wheel shell on a rotary table and then heat it with a propane torch. Then they drop the centre in and bolt the two peices together....

My 2 piece Works are getting repaired now too actually and the guys there said they had to use like a silicone sealant or something along those lines.

How do you manage to disassemble the wheel? Mine is a 3 pieces with the lip and rim welded and center disk bolted.

Finally I am able to dissamble my Work wheel. I have to use a block of 2x4 wood and hammer out the center disk. After couple hits at every corner, the disk comes off.
