Removing Front LCA FD3S - Help!

I've been trying to separate the front LCA from the knuckle hub assembly with a balljoint separater fork, a tie rod pitarm tool. No luck. Is this the answer to my problem? - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sps-37990/overview/

What do RX7s owners use?

Tried these:

OEM/Pitman arm puller (27016) | Pitman Arm Puller | AutoZone.com

Performance Tool Tie Rod/Ball Joint Separator Set, Model# W89310 | Ball Joint, Bearing Gear Repair| Northern Tool + Equipment

I used a 'pickle fork' like in your 3rd link. Worked fine on one side. Started digging into the soft aluminum when on the other side that was on there tighter. Note that those forks are different sizes/ widths.

Best way I find, is one BFH - wielded with intent! - and another fairly large mass on the opposite side of the balljoint pin.....helps if you've got an assistant......to shock it out of the taper.

Pickle tools I've found are rubbish, tearing boots almost guaranteed. Some of the cheap separators are not much better, if you can find one that fits properly.

Edit: rereading that, you're not hitting the threaded section of the balljoint - either side of the steel upright, where the balljoint taper pin inserts!

Metal BHF against the steel insert area for the pin? A horizontal blow to this part of the knuckle?

Yes by hitting the knuckle perpendicular to the pin length, you can distort the tapered bore enough that the taper will break loose.
