Question Removing Calipers? Primarily front (FD)

Im a total noob to this so would like a step by step guide if somebody could please tell me.

Want to remove my front calipers (and later rears) to use a drill with a wire brush on to clean them up for painting them red.

I've read there are 2 bolts holding them on. All i can see is 2 tiny screws at the front, and 2 massive nuts at the back. Are they the ones??

I take it the brake pads wont just fall off if i remove the caliper and i wont have to fiddle with them in any way when putting them back on??

Also how do i go about stopping brake fluid leaking?? clamp the brake line?? Where is it??
If i do that will i have to bleed the brakes of anything when putting them back on??

Is it a simple case of 1) Undo Nuts, 2) CLamp brake line and undo (how?) and 3) sort of wiggle caliper till it comes off??

Pics would be appreciated for reference if possible!!!

Thanks very much

Ryan

1. Take the cap off the brake fluid reservoir. Cover the opening with plastic wrap, then reinstall cap. (This decreases the amount of fluid leaking out when you disconnect the line.)
2. Loosen lug nuts
3. Jack up front of car and place on jack stands
4. Remove front wheels
5. Cover floor under brake calipers with newspaper.
6. Remove the banjo bolt from the brake line where it attaches to the caliper, and cover it with something tight, like the finger from a vinyl (not latex) glover, and duct tape. If you have a rubber plug, or a short bolt with the right thread pattern, use it to plug the hole in the caliper body.
7. Remove the two big bolts (17 mm IIRC) holding the caliper to the bracket from the back side of the bracket. The bracket is attached to the spindle.
8. Slide caliper off rotor. If the hole where the brake line attaches is not plugged, then be careful which way you turn the caliper so you don't dump the fluid out until you want to.
9. Do whatever you're going to do re: prep, paint, etc., being very careful to not get anything on the friction surfaces or the sliding surfaces of the pistons. It's probably easier to remove the pads to be sure.
10. Reassemble.
11. Bleed brakes. If your brake fluid is at least 1 year old, or you're not sure, this is a good time to flush the system with new fluid.
