Unhappy rear susp pillow ***** don't fit.. wrong part?

Just got replacement pillow ***** from Mazda for the outer rear lower and
upper control arms p/n FD01-26-230, and it looks like they are about 1/4"
smaller than they need to be, and the sleeve that the bolt runs through is
also too short. They also have seals built in, which doesn't make sense
because the control arms specify removable, separate seals. I got the part
#'s off the fiche images on Steve cirian's website, and the dealer confirmed
the #'s on his parts catalog. has anyone replaced these recently and run
into a problem, or have they revised the actual part and maybe require
spacers on either side of the pillow ball, or did they put the wrong part in
the bag?? (they really look more like the pillow ***** used in the front
swaybar dogbones- the bolt sleeve is the same length, but they are a little
too large in dia to fit).

help!

I just did mine with parts from the dealer and they were an exact replacement. It sounds to me like you just got the wrong part, I doubt there would be any mods required to make it fit.

I don't remember the part number and I don't have the receipt with me, I'll check at home.

-230 is the part number for the toe link bushing. -220 is the right number for the control arms and the seals are -250.

Thanks all. The correct part # is indeed 220, and 250 for the seals.

Thanks again!

Jelkil,

Are you doing the Speed Trial Gingerman Event next weekend?

I won't be able to make that event, as Paul probably won't have my car ready yet...I'm still trying to have my '99 FD Rx7 Type RS brakes installed...

If you are going to Gingerman, I think Ric C will be there as well...make us proud!
