Rear shock choices for GXL
I'm trying to decide on an appropriate shock for replacing the rears on my car. The bushings in them have been destroyed by time.
This car has the auto suspension and that's something I think I want to preserve.
So, what are my options? Mazda shocks aren't cheap. Monroes are about $50 through advance auto, but are they good enough? What other choices do I have?
Obviously, I want to balance cost and handling. This is stock car with no mods and I have no plans to make any.
Or should I ditch the adjustable suspension all together?

Factory AAS shocks/struts are over $250 each.
I would just get some adj KYB AGX's or throw on some Koni Yellows or Tokikos.
The first question you need to ask is what you use the car for? Is it only a street car... or do you AutoX/Road Race?
How many miles on the suspension? Probably time for polyeurathane bushings also. Huge difference.
If it is only a commuter.... throw on the Monroes and ditch the AAS.

Suspension has 29k on it too. I just got lucky and bought a really low mileage car.
Which tokikos would you recommend?
Are the Mazda ones the only choice for the AAS? Anyone make aftermarket ones for them?
