Rear FC brake rebuild

Has anyone tried rebuilding their rear calipers on an FC? I have a 91 track car with stock brakes and I purchased the only rebuild kits Advance auto parts has listed (D351212). the seals that fit inside the cylinder are too large. Does anyone have any idea what the deal is? Apparently that same kit is sold for all models of the FC.

does anyone know were to get kits that will fit?

If the seals are too big for my pistons does that mean that the car has larger brakes available? I was under the impression that the 91 coupe had the biggest front and rear brakes available.

I just saw that the casting number of my calipers is 1313.

I also understand that there is a casting number 1315 available. Are these bigger, smaller or the same? As my rebuild kit was numbered D351212, I suppose that perhaps the 1212 might be a seperate casting number as well. Is this correct?

If the car is not a turbo II or a convertible (4 lug) then it has smaller calipers. The fronts are very obvious 4 piston on the TII and vert and are very similar to the 3rd gen brakes. The rear rotors are vented on the 5 lug cars.

The pistons in the rear calipers are all the same size, the only real difference is the thickness allowance for the rotor and the different brackets to mount them in different places to account for the different diameter rotors.

After rebuilding my own brakes a few times, I just buy rebuilt calipers. Lazy? Yes. But changing seals in those calipers is a pain in the ***.

I can't help much on the size, never used the kit in question, I always bought the seals direct from Mazda.
