Rear Control Arm Bushing Size Issue

My chassis is an 87 NA, and i am swaping 5 lug setup from an S5, it appears the rear control arm bushings in my energy suspension kit are about 2-3 mm too big.... The part number is correct per the instructions, but there is no way it would fit in there.

Is there a difference in pushing sizes between the S4 and S5?

For some weird reason Mazda put metal sleeves around their bushings. Initially they look like they aren't even there because of the "lip" on them. Removing those should give you the clearance you need. I just finished installing mine and some posts previously made about these have been quite helpful.

Check and ensure there isn't some metal left from the last bushing jammed in there. The previous bushing likely had a metal housing as well and it has become wedged into the control arm.
You should be able to press it out and push in the new bushing, metal and all.

i was wondering about that, but because of the lip i thought it was part of the arms...

have a link to the pages that helped you?

Ii know alot of ppl out there could use it. but my two steps forward one step back process isnt anything to use to show anyone else. If i do this again i will defiantly document it
