Racing Hart Rims
Racing Hart Rims
Hey guys and gals, i have been hard pressed to get the Racing Hart CP-035 rims for my FD for a while now, but after emailing a few people in regards to the rim, they said that they have had very bad experiences with them on a daily driver. Someone on the board said that they were prone to splitting/shattering if used on a daily driver. Which is bad for me, because i live in Jacksonvile, FL, and we are undergoing the "Better Jacksonville Plan," which basically means the roads will be under construction for the next 4 years.
So I changed my mind, and saw the Racing Hart C5000. They look sooo awesome, almost exactly like the Denso Supra's rim in the JGTC races. So, i inquirred about them at Auto Innovations in town, and to my luck, they dont make those in an offset for the FD! I have been in the hunt for rims for a while now, but those 2 styles are basically the only ones that appeal to me (aside from the Volk LE37k).
Does anyone know of any rims that look lik ethe CP-035 (white) but are more structurally sound, or a rim that looks like the Racing Hart C5000? I basically want them in 17x7-17x8, with roughly a 45-50mm offset. My spending limit for the rims is roughly $2500 for the rims, i'll get tires for them next month. Please post links to sites if you have them, or as much info as possible.
TIA,
Chris

7 and 8-inch wide is too narrow for the FD (what's the point since the stockers are 8-inch wide?). You need to go much wider to make your substantial cash outlay worth it. 9 x 17 all around with 45 mm offset works great for street or auto-x (I know from real experience with 255/40-17 AVS I's). 8.5 x 17 fr and 9.5 or 10 x 17 rr would worth the extra money for track wheels (a bit more understeer to keep you safe).
sweetness, thanx sleepR1. Now all i have to do is re-edit all of my searching for 8.5x17 and 9.5x17. Would you happen to know of any rims that look like the Racing Hart C5000's? I know Racing Hart only makes them in 7x17, as well as "not enough for rx7 (according to auto innovations)" offsets, which isnt what im looking for unfortunately.
Again, thanx SleepR1

RH Evolution is not the same as Racing Hart. Dazz Motorsports is the Racing Hart distributor for North Am. They leverage that connection to do lower cost Racing Hart look-alikes and calls them RH Evolution. Not the same quality.

I was looking up rims, and i have finally settled on a rim that i KNOW FOR A FACT wont shatter on me, and will fit the FD
The Volk Racing LE37k. Now my only question left, is the choice of color, which is either gunmetal, or diamond cut. Which do you guys think would look better on a VR FD? Both the Diamond Cut (silverish) and Gunmetal look pretty sweet. Also if you have pix of the Diamond on an FD, please post!
All opinions are greatly appreciated!
