racing beat springs and stock shocks?
i put 18 inch wheels on my car and i would like to lower it a little.I have been thinking about putting the racing beat suspension kit on my car with stock shocks.I read that the springs are only 7% stiffer than stock.Has anyone here gone with this combo? My shocks are still good and i dont want to spend more money on new ones.

i am running 235x40x18 front and 265x35x18 rear.If they are only 7% stiffer than stock shouldnt my ride be almost as smooth as stock.I hate stiff riding cars,Like my 87 turboII.My fd is a everyday driver,no track or autoX.I have searched and the jury is still out on will my tires rub.

you should be fine with that setup. if you are interested, i have a set of the PFS "comfort" springs which had a mild 1" drop front/rear. worked great for street driving esp on rough roads.
by using the stock shocks you'll find that you will retain ride comfort. i've run a couple of different suspension setups on my 2 FDs and found that the stock shocks work well with springs and that aftermarket shocks appear to have more of an affect on ride comfort especially over the rough roads we have here in NY.
