Race suspension setup

I'm building an FC up to a NASA performance touring class. Anyways, my stock suspension is probably bad as the previous owner cut the springs. So I'll need to replace the struts and springs. I am considering coilovers. This car will only be street driven to and from the track, so I'm not looking for any sort of comfort level. I'm just looking for suggestions on a suspension setup that can get me a lot of stiffness (though isn't so stiff that I hit a pebble and fly 100 feet into a wall). I'd also like to keep the full system cost under $1k. What options do I have?

For under $1k you'll be looking at getting some of the very cheapest coilovers out there that probably don't have the best valving, or longevity. You'll probably regret it later on. The best option in that price range I'd think would be to get some Koni Yellows and Ground Control coilover sleeves. Set camber with ride height, then later on when you can afford it get some camber plates and a rear camber adjuster. Spring rates of 400lb/in front and 275lb/in rear are very common for a starter setup with road racing NA FC's.
