Quiet, nice ride tire
Quiet, nice ride tire
Guys I am looking for the most quiet road noise/most comfortable ride tire I can find.
Here is the kicker:
Fronts need to be 285/30/18 rears 315/30/18
Now I know that low of a profile is going to be naturally more stiff.
Any suggestions on a nice tire for it? I have heard the Sumitomos are decent in that size. Dry performance is secondary. Wet performance is no biggie because this isnt a daily driver car and will rarely see the rain.

i have had 285/30/19 in toyo t1r and Michelin pilot sport, the Michelin is you best bet. They were quiet and had a really nice ride to them, they are expensive but you get what you pay for. Dont let this forum fool you, 30s are a comfortable ride i noticed no difference when moving from a 35 to a 30, just make sure you are ordering some nice 3 piece wheels that wont crack upon hitting a pot hole.
How do you plan to fit 285's up front? I have wide front fenders with 255s and that barely fits.

I'm not completely sure if they sell in the size you need, but I got the new Yokohama S-Drive's in a 35 series, and I am really impressed at how quiet they are. I'm not sure how much my opinion counts though as I've never been keen to tire noise in the past.

I appreciate the opinion. All are welcome. The thing with stuff like this is all the MFG's say theirs are super quiet and comfy.
Reviews are a trainwreck....one says the xxx tire is Super, quiet and comfy ride while the next review says xxx tire is the loudest tire they have ever used and felt like riding on rocks....

Yeah I think I have narrowed it down (as long as I dont go with a drag radial) to the michilen pilot ps2 and the Falken 615s.
They come in these sizes with decent reviews.

falken azenis rt615?!?!??! those are aggressive autox tires, they will be nowhere near as quiet or as soft/comfy/plush/smooth as the michelin pilot sports.
no way in hell.
but the azenis would be a BADASS tire for sure, massive grip in those sizes on an FD, wowie.
