Protege 5 rims on a FC

Just bought some P5 wheels to fit on my fc, the wheels are on the car and balanced but when i push my car a little bit or when i turn at high speed, the steering wheels is vibrating a lot. I don' t know if the tire are rubbing or something but can someone tell me what is the offset of the wheels. And if someone know what kind of spacer to use, just tell it. Maybe my car is broken again....

Thanx
David

Well I'm the protege master over at the common forums. hehe. I got one of them.

Bro I would not run those 16's. That's a bad idea. The wheels are only 6" wide and the offset is way too high. You'll need to sell them and get something else. In the future it would be in your best interest to try and get wheels from a RWD car as teh offset will typically be lower. You need mid 30's offset.

I think that 195 on a fc non turbo is way enough...

Just want to know what is the offset of protege wheels?!

I just want to find a way to fit them on my car because i don't want to sell them .....

Maybe get some spacer if someone can help me with that...

And whats the difference between RWD and FWD wheels?!??

Offset for FWD is way high compared to RWD for the most part. FD excluded.

do what you got to do. It's unfortunate that you decide to ask for advice after the fact. When we could have helped you avoid making this mistake.

You need to run spacers and those wheels are a +50 offset. I ran them on my FC once to get it home and it was not a good thing. Steering wheel shook like a mother.

They are not hubcentric and will be very difficult to find hubrings. I say you've made a mistake.

195 is not enough btw. I mean why take a step backwards. The car would handle better with stock wheels or get some S5 T2 16" wheels. At least they are hubcentric, the right offset, and width.

Do what you gotta do. I only like doing things the right way so i'm not the right person to advise you cause I'll flat out say, "SELL THEM" and get something suitable for your application. I hate taking steps backwards. If you want something for the car you should look at used silvia wheels, 300zx, or something like that. I mean they make some cheap *** 16's nowdays with good width and offset. Best of luck.

Get at least a 15mm spacer, pull apart the hubs, get longer studs, and get some 205/55/16. It is the correct diameter for the FC. You're way undersized right now. Your car will fall on it's face at like 110-120 i assume.

After this expense you might consider selling them. hehe. I don't see this being cost or performance effective.

Thanks for your time, you seem to know your thing...

What do you mean by `Your car will fall on it's face at like 110-120 i assume' . I'm no too good in english, sorry :P

By the way, why is the steering is shaking like that, just to know... I'll remove them, they look nice but well, if they don't fit.....

As for the tire, they already are 205/55r16....

I couldn't figure out why it would be shaking. Make sure you're using the right lugnuts and also maybe because it's not hubcentric.

Since you're using the right size tire you'll still have gearing. By undersizing the tires you will run out of gear at top speed. You'll wind faster but reach max speed much sooner. This is nothing to worry about since you have the right size tires.
