Product Review: BC Racing Coilover Suspension

So I picked up a set of BC Racing coilovers for my FD, and I've had them installed for about 3 weeks now and thought I'd write a little something on my impression of them. I met a rep for them in my area about a year ago, when I had my LS1 Miata and he tried to get me to sell my Tein's and buy a set of BC's then. I had not really heard too much abotu them at the time, and I was extremely happy with my Tein's so I decided not to mess with them. Fast forward to now, I sold the Miata, bought the FD, which at the time had eibach's and stock shocks (which I didn't like at all) My buddy has an E39 M5, and he installed the BC's on his car, and absolutely loved them, so I decided to give them a try.

They were packed well, and they looked great. It's a guessing game as to where to start with the height adjustment, but it only took my two tries on each axle to get em right.

Installation was straight forward, and everything fit great except for one small detail. The brake line bracket that attaches to the front shock body, needed to be shaved down a bit to allow for it to be angled down and out of the way of the UCA.

Once that was done I could route the line properly and use the factory clips to keep it in place.
The ride comfort is on par with the Tein's. The standard spring rates are 10/8 and they feel really good on the street. I felt the Eibachs rode terribly, so this was a huge improvement. The dampening adjustment is noticeable and it firms up quite nicely. I have a few track days scheduled in the next couple of months so I'll have to update later after I see how they do on track. I think they retail for around $1200, but can be found for around $1000 most places. The distributor is local to me, and he seemed very helpful, even offering to swap out for the higher 12/10 springs if I felt it needed them. Also he said anything warranty related would be handled immediately. I would definitely recommend them.
