problem with tokico shocks - how to tighten nut? (pic)
I recently bought another FC and it has these tokico shocks on it. but they are banging around like they werent tightened. so i pull them off and find the mounting bracket is flapping in the breeze, and the top nut isnt tightened down all the way. I try to tighten, and it just spins with the shaft.. all the brackets and bushings spin freely against the shaft also. so there is nothing to brace against to tighten the nut. wtf?? any help?
I can see scrapes on the upper part of the shaft were it looks like someone took vise grips to it

On a FD Tockico Illumina shock, there is a spacer provided that mounts underneath the nut that screws onto the top of the shaft. The spacer is compressed by the nut and bracket. There is also two flat sides on top of the shaft to mount a wrench on to hold the shaft in place while you loosen or tighten the nut. If your bracket spins freely, most likely, your shaft nut needs to be tighten more.
Hope this helps.

Is unsafe to drive with a loose nut on top of the shox but you can prob reinstall the shox and drive slowly to place where you can get acces to a impact gun. You can also try tightening the nut with the shock install to see if the friction would keep the shaft from spinning.
