need some more info.

how much camber are you running? are you sure your shocks are still good? and are you sure those are +30 offset wheels? don't look like them to me.

^^
car is dropped 1.5" (3kg/mm) as stated by tanabe , i just put the shocks (brandnew), springs(brandnew) and wheels (used) on like 3 weeks ago. sorry at this moment i have no idea how much camber is in the front.
wheel is 17x8 +30mm as claimed by the seller. wheel/tire is absolutely not touching any thing and it drives fine (beside doing hard u-turn and going thru some curvy/bouncy surface)

do you think running coilover with camber plate is going to fix the problem hence the thinner coil, stiffer spring rate and camber adjustability?

thanks

getting a thicker spacer would help. and sometimes coilovers will make it rub more, depending on the coilover. I doubt the wheel offset is 30mm

You sure it's a +30 offset?

some more pic on clearance between fender and wheels

stock unrolled fender

there's another member on here who runs into the same problem as i do.

he has the same suspension set up (tanabe + agx) and he is running 17x7 +40mm 215/45/17 (which i believe is the same size as stock t2 wheel, overall diameter)

Actually with coilovers it will rub less since the springs on coilovers do not have the one coil that is wider like springs.

Those pics do look like 30 offset rims, I have 17 by 8 with 34 fronts, 225/45/17 tires and I do not rub, granted I do have Gorund Control coilovers.

running coilover is my best bet since the spring is overall narrower than the coil springs i have now.

any other input is appreciated

Well, all I can think of next is the installation of the springs/struts.

Who did them? And was the installation done correctly? Missing any washers, bumpstops, spacers, etc? If you miss something, then it would cause a bumpy ride or sluggish handling.

Other than that, yes, coilovers will help because of the smaller diameter coil spring, stiffer spring rates, and ride height adjustability. If you can't go that way, then I would suggest a 5-10mm spacer. 10mm spacer my be pushing it on factory wheel studs because you won't be able to safely get enough threads to tighten your wheels.

Thanks for the input.

the spring/struct installation must have been done correctly since I been driving it for 3 months and the ride is very smooth and perform the way it should.

You can get the ground control coilover kit if you're on a budget and sell your springs to get some money back. Its hard having wide wheels up front on an FC using stock suspension. My brother has 17x8s +35 up front on his FC but he's running coilovers. Theres no rubbing issues with his setup.

I think those springs are too soft.
Are you sure they are authentic?
I only mention this since there are fake Tein springs out there...

Bump 'cause I've noticed the same problem over the last year. Running AGX KYB shocks 225/50/16 TOYOs on the stock 91 T2 wheels. 90% of time no problem but on some roads and tracks I hear it rubbing something... springs, fender lip or something. When I had the springs/shocks/tires put on it dropped the car one inch all the way around from what it was. Love the way the car rides and handles otherwise but I'm wondering about what Ted said about them being to soft, esp on a stockish 91 T2 that is heavy to begin with. I haven't noticed that the tires are hitting or rubbing anywhere else but I'll check again.
