Painting and Polishing Stock FD Rims

Has anyone ever done this? I want to add a diffrent look to my FD but dont want to speed a bunch of $$$ on aftermarket rims. I was wondering if its possible to polish the lip of the stock rim then paint the centers jet black.. has anyone ever tried this?

If so what would I need to polish the lip of the stockers?

Any help would be greatly appricated.

Painting is easy. I painted my friend's FD wheels semi gloss black and they turned out awesome. If you need some tips let me know.

As for polishing youd better have arms blessed by God. It is going to take a lot of time, probably a week if you work on the wheels everyday. You will need to use different grits of sandpaper going from roughest to smoothest of course.

I have seen people polish valve covers and it's a lot of work and that's just on a small SOHC Honda valve cover.

You could try just painting the spokes and leaving the rim stock. But it will definitely be a lot of work to polish the lips yourself.
