Doing Turbo II brake upgrade....

i am going to do the Turbo II brake upgrade on my Fb in a few weeks. i was wondering what size rim will i need to clear the TII calipers. i dont know yet if i am going to keep the 4 lug pattern or go 5 lug. but either way i need to clear the calipers. obiously the 14's on my GSL-SE are way too small. i just want to go big enough to clear the calipers, basically go as small a rim as possible to clear the calipers that way once i get brand new calipers from Mazda and have them powder coated red i will look like i have a bigger brake setup than what is actually there.

15" wheels clear fine over the brakes on an FC, I dont see why it should be any different on your FB. Not sure if the 14s will clear or not though.

I have 16" on mine. It's already close, but you might be able to sqeese 15" rims on it. It's possible that not all 15" rims will fit.

Alot of N/A FC models came with the same brakes as the Turbo2, and they came with 15" wheels. Im not saying every 15" wheel will fit, but Ive never came across one that hasn't.

Wheel size is not even your problem really the offset is the most important thing you need to worry about. That is the space from where the wheel bolts to the hub and the distance to the break caliper. All 15 inch wheels will clear the radius from the center of the hub break caliper. you should be able to get the specs from any wheel manufacture to make sure the wheels you have will fit the offset.
