Overall Opinions on Kumho Ecsta
Which tire model? "Kumho Ecsta" has several different variations. If you are referring to the MX, those are widely liked and used by RX7 owners. Extremely good tire for the money, especially when considering it's age.
Just FYI, Kumho should be releasing their MX replacement later this year:

I'm not a big fan of MX's. I had them on a G35 coupe I had a couple years ago, and they had no grip in wet conditions. Dry grip was lacking considering lack of wet grip. I like RT-615s much better, as they have much better grip in dry although they suck in wet... but it's no worse than MX.

Are you sure you had the MX's? A friend of mine tested both the MX and 615's at the track (same care, same setup for both tires). He basically ran very similar lap times, however the MX was more predictable as the tires heated up. Given that the MX has better wet performance, he preferred it over the 615's. The old Kumho Ecsta 711's are horrible.
