Ordering some lowering springs and tires for my FD

I'm currently running 225/40/18's in the front and 275/35/18's in the rear (all mounted on ADR M-Sports with a 35 offset)

I'm going to be lowering the car with either the Eibach's or H&R's and I'm wondering if I can go any wider with the rubber (maybe 235 or 245 up front and 285 in back)

Anyone have some prior experience and knowledge they can pass on to me?

Thanks in advance!

-Ian

How wide are the wheels? I would expect you will have rubbing problems up front when you lower it even with the 225s....

The front wheels are 8.5" wide and the rears are 9.5. I already rolled my fenders so I'm not concerned with rubbing the lip of the fender, I'm more concerned with the rubbing of the fender liner and other areas under the wheel wells.

Thanks,

Ian

You could run 245/35s up front then...I would not run a 285/30 on a 9.5 wheel, and most tire manufacturers don't recommend it either.

OK...so I'll stick with the 275's on the rear and 245's up front...thanks again....by the way, do you have any preference between the Eibach or the H&R lowering springs? I'd like to have the most drop I can without having the top of the tire disappear behind the fender & supposedly the H&R's drop .25" lower than the eibach's, but if it looks clean, I'd rather have it lower, 'know?

Thanks again,

Ian

H&Rs will drop the car to 25" (maybe 25 1/4" but no higher) up front measured from the ground to the top of the fender using a stock diameter tire around 24 - 24.5"

I have Eibachs with my 18x8 +38, 225-40-18 tires and they do rub the fender lining slightly when I'm pushing the car.
