255/40-17 in front?

Hey guys,
I was thinking about picking up a set of falken RT-615's for my wheels, but I wanted some opinions on what size I should order.

My wheel in the front is 17x8.5 +40
Should I go with 235/40-17 or 255/40-17 on my FD?
I will have a mild drop, but I do NOT ever want to rub, and I do not want to roll the fenders.

For the rear, I have 17x9.5 +40 wheels, and I was planning on going with 275/40-17

Thanks for the input,
Kevin

Running wider wheels on a lowered FD and not EVER wanting to rub without rolling the fenders is a bit optimistic. 235/40 is a bit too short, especially with the 275/40s out back, but would be the better option given your parameters. Personally, I would run the 255/40s and then deal with rubbing if it occured.

As long as you're not running any mad tyte drifter offsets, there should be no worries with the fender lip with either tire. I've run both 235/40 and 255/40's up front, the 255 will occasionaly scrape the drivers side fenderwell when pulling into a driveway or hard right corners whereas the 235 never touched a thing

17x9's, +43, 255's and lowered = rub city. If your fenders are rolled, you should be fine. If they aren't time to get it done.

Thanks for all of the replies. I appreciate the picture too, but I don't think I will be dropping it that much. There is zero fender gap there.

I hve the 255/40/17 RT-615s on my car in the front. They are on an 8" wheel which isn't ideal but I dont have money to upgrade the wheel width at this time. I rub slightly in the front on the fender lip if I am REALLY low...at 25.5" ride height and my fenders rolled a little I don't rub...but I haven't put a lot of miles on the car either...

I am not entirely sure of my wheel offset, I will post when I have it.
