Opinions on which wheels to buy- 57C or 57S?

Actually theres three wheels im going between, the Gram Light 57S, 57C and 5Zigen FN01RC.

The Gram Lights would be sized 17x8x5+30F and 17x9.5+38R. The FN01RCs would be slightly less aggressive with 17x8+35F and 17x9+35R. The color for the 57S would be gunmetal most likely. I dont know what id choose for the 57C. The FN01RC seems like it'd be nice in the hyper black finish although im not sure if its made anymore. Most likely i'll place my order this week.

I can't visualize the wheels on my FC. Photochops are welcome

Heres some pics of my car to help. Copy and paste the link or it wont work.

I'd say go with the 57S, tapered spoke looks so gooood. The C is just too plain and I've done them on a few FC's. They looked good, but the S I think would look really nice as we've seen them on S13's and they look pretty darn good.

Your 8.5 +30 is gonna cut it real close to the coils from my experience. Like so close that I think a +28 would be a safe offset. If you don't go one piece then you can get a custom offset in the two piece ones. Are you retaining your stock fenders?

Just depends on tire size. That has about the same backspacing as a 17x8 +35 which I've had several problems with on coilovers. I couldn't lower it to the amount wanted. Kinda sucked. I had to use a 3mm spacer. Well i checked the site and they don't make an ideal offset for the S or C, you might need to use a small spacer. Please check real closely after you install them. Mine was so close i didn't notice the collar chewing into the inner sidewall on the tire.

This would be the way to go: But i figure you want lightweight.

Thanks for the advice Rishie. Im leaning a bit more towards the 57S for that reason. As for the offset and clearance, you called it almost exactly. Its going to be down to a literal mm or two. For now, I'll be retaining the stock fenders. However, ive been eyeing the GP Sports replacements for the future.

What tire size do you think will work? Maybe no more then 225 huh? Well, if worst comes to worst, like you said I may have to use the spacer.

I have a set of the GP Impact EX fenders coming in for my FC. Dude, they take forever to come thru with ****. I can't believe it. Let me know if you need the fenders and i'll see what i can do for you.

Tire size will depend on grip or drift? I'd say 225/35 possibly. But if this is for track then you won't have enough sidewall. I've done 18's on the front of stock body FC's and it just doesn't look right to me. I'd go 17" front and 18" rear if anything.

I agree with rishie the 57s looks better than the 57c. BUT I like the FN01RC over the 57s because of the price =)

I am dead set on these and about to order a set these Gram lights 57s threw you guys at Auto Rnd, but was also wondering if that set up would work?..17x8.5 +30 and 17x9.5 +38 . i want that set up cause it has the concave face i am looking for. i am running lowered springs and struts and stock fenders... what exactly needs to be done to make this set up fit?...what tires are recommended...thanks.

unfortunately you won't find the "Face 2" in an offset for the front of the fC. The 8.5 +30 will not bow inward. You will also more than likely need to roll your fenders and you'll be very close to the inside strut if you're running coilovers.

The rear setup is fine.

Thanks, Rishie

I see, so running struts ans spring inthe front would be fine?.. would require that I just roll the fenders?... would a mild roll of the front fenders be enough to clear it. What size tires should i use?.. Thanks.

Ive had the FN01RCs on another car but what I really wanted were Gram Lights 57Cs but I couldnt find them at the time. The 57Cs get my vote.

Yes i think a minor fender roll would work fine.

Try a 225/45/17 or 235/40/17.
