One Rim/Tire sticks out past the fender?

Ok, does anybody know how I can fix this? I purchased used Rims and Tires and after I put them on, I saw that the front passenger side tire sticks out past the fender. About a 1/4 inch and on occasion while driving will rub on the fender top lip. The other side, just clears the lip of the fender. The front wheels are the same size 17s but one sticks out past the fender. The other one is fine. Is this something I can fix or do I have to go to Midas?

Double check the offset (backspacing) on the wheels. It's possible the front wheels have a different offset than the rears. Check to see if you didnt put a front wheel on the rear and a rear wheel on the front. This happened to my friend who bought 4 used wheels. One wheel's offset was different compared to the other 3. He experienced the same issues you're having but with only one wheel.

Thanks Juan for your comment. The rears are 17x9 and the fronts are 17x8 I think... But the wheels are located correctly. I did think that maybe I should measure the front rims just to be sure though. But originally when i looked at them and when I got them home, I placed them on the ground(flat cement driveway) Two fronts together and two rears together... The rears are obviously larger so there's no mistaken them. I didn't notice the difference in rim sizes only the tire sizes... I guess I'll measure them tomorrow and see. Hopefully they are the same.. If so, I guess I'll have to look at replacing the fender with another one. Or bang it out some...

is it possible that a thin wheel spacer from the previous owner is stuck on the rim?

if so, the other ring is prob on still on his rotor and he's having the same issue lol...

hey everyone poker player bought the rims off of me. they were on a s5 TII. the wheels fit perfectly on my fc the rears are wider than the fronts. i think your right 9 in the rear 8 in the front. he has all 4 spacers he has bfg kdw tires on them. since they are directional tires would having them on the wrong side play into his issue. ive been thinking about this all day. cant figure out why just one side would stick out. were there any differences in fenders, suspension specs and such between fc years

Thanks Henry,, I looked and took measurements.. I really believe there is something wrong with the passenger side fender. I noticed that the fender liner is missing from the passenger side fender. Which only supports my thought that this fender was replaced at some time. So now the big question is, "Is a S5 fender 89-91 wider than a S4 86-88?" As I look at the fenders I can see that the passenger side fender does not bow out as much as the other side. I really believe so, but does anybody know for sure? Either way, I want to purchase a passenger side fender now from an S5 model if anybody has one for sale... Let me know... (I pulled out a bit on the fender and Yup, I just put a kink in the fender) Oh BOY!!! I'm good!!!

do you have coilovers?

sounds like the camber side to side might be different or your frame is tweaked a bit.

The front suspension is completely stock... I took it to the shop and had them inspect the front end. The shop said that everything looks great. The front is tight and in correct specs. The alignment was redone. It does drive a lot better also.. The guy said, it's hard to see but I should look into having the fender looked at, at a body shop. I looked inside the fender well, I can't see any fender damage. But I can see that the fender does not bow as much at the top of the fender well as the other side does.. Anyhow, thanks a lot to you all for your suggestions and help. I'm gonna closed this thread...
