Hmm, no reading problems here. Just quoting what was already written. Once again, what you thought and what he said are two completely different things. It looks ridiculous as you state that it sticks out in your first post and then a post later you say it doesn't. However, since you never clarify what you are talking about in the latter posts, it looks like you are contradicting yourself (and the pictures) in your own thread.

You could have, and should have, clarified what you were referring to in the latter posts and it would have stopped half of the messages in the thread. This is the internet, people can only go off what you type, not what you mean.

I feel like I'm talking to Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

DamonB indicated that he wouldn't create a subforum for dorifto-suave nonsense on the bases that it would diminish the "sharing" of information.

I think it's pretty obvious that there are a fair amount of people here that haven't availed themselves of the hard-earned knowledge that's already here for free, and most certainly aren't interested in (and are disdainful of) any knowledge "Shared" in their direction, because afterall they've seen what they want in a Japanese magazine so it must be cool, and anything that contradicts it must be the work of old wimps trying to cramp their style.

I could and should ignore it, but it pissed me off because it's crap like this that's devaluing and cheapening our car's image, and pushing it more towards FnF 240's and civics, and away from porsches and corvettes. It's really sad.

It is hard to learn anything when you already think you know everything. I think it is funny that they do this to be "different" and all wind up looking the same

It pisses you off that other people modify their own car the way that they like?

Despite the performance that the RX7 offers, I've still never seen it compared with Porsches and Corvettes (at least not by Corvette or Porsche enthusiasts) even though the car has what it takes to hang with both on a track. I've seen it compared to Supras, 300zx's, M3's, Evo's, etc, but it seems like you have this idea that the RX7 is an Italian super car that should be treasured.

In reality, it's a 11+ year old Japanese sports car that is known for being extremely unreliable (not going to comment on whether that's true or not). The import tuner scene is probably one of the things that keeps the value of the car high. If it wasn't for all the attention it's gotten in Tuner magazines, car shows, Japanese racing videos (Option, Best Motoring, Hot Version.....even Initial D to an extent I suppose) and movies like F&F, there wouldn't be nearly as much support for the rotary enthusiasts. There would be less parts out there, less rotary specialists, and it would probably be a less desirable car to most people. Now that there is all this support, it's possible to get motors rebuilt fairly inexpensively so more people are willing to take on the RX7 as a project.

Anyway, just let people do what they want to their car. If you don't like it or can't deal with it, just don't say anything. It was the "Proper Offset" guys that started the arguements in both threads, though I will say that the other side didn't argue their point very well for the most part.

RX7, porsche 997, same level,

Why take out a loan for 150k to get a 997? you could be rolling in 93 FD3S, you must not want the ultimate in performance.

Here are my Volk SF winnings 18x9 +41 18x10 +42 with 255/35/18 and 275/35/18

I can get the benefits of:

1) wide rubber/more grip
2) flushed look without having to resort to negative camber to get things to fit
3) wide rubber stance (if your into the look thing)
4) ability to change camber depending on race/driving conditions without worrying about FUBARing the sheet metal

And why do you think that is? Could it be all of the assclown owners with ridiculous body kits and improperly-fit wheels on cars that barely run?

When the car (FD) was new, it was bought by the same demographic of people as Porsches and Vettes... older, mature guys who appreciated sportscars. As time has passed, you'll see older Vettes and Porsches aren't looked down upon by the owners of the new cars just because they're only worth $10k. That's because they typically aren't all jacked up and owned by young punks who think they know everything. A 15 year old Vette or Porsche still has some degree of CLASS, because by and large their owners still have some degree of class and taste. Not all, but enough.

Whenever I go to the track, and Vette and Porsche guys come up to me to talk about my car, they're always impressed and complimentary of how nice it is, which is code for "not all riced out in dorifto glory"...

hahahahah, what are you, dumb? RX7 is rice burner with or without old man "I keep it clean" behind the wheel.

only Porsche I would take an FD over is the grosszone 944s or such.

I really can't beleive you are that obsessed with what some loser with a vette thinks about your car "some dude with a C5 on wagon wheels thinks my car is hot I can take my big toe off the trigger"

4) ability to change camber depending on race/driving conditions without worrying about FUBARing the sheet metal
Hahah, change alingment for race conditions? who are you kidding, your ***** probably got the stock links with double locktite on them at 0.5 degrees of camber.

There are good rice burners and bad rice burners bro. Show up to a vintage car race or show, and you've got a Toyota 3000 GT from the 70's or a Datsun 1600, or 240Z, and you can park it next to an old Porsche or Lotus. The FD's designers said they considered how the car might be percieved being presented at Pebble Beach 20-30 years later, and that drove their decisions with regard to the design. The likelihood is, you'll not ever see many there, but that's not due to the nature of the car, or owners like me, Tyler, or Bob, or others, it's because of the FnF dorifto posers that drive around with the car looking like a bloody cartoon.

Oh, and sorry to dissapoint, but 1.5 degrees negative, and lip achieved the RIGHT way, I Eeeearned it with wheels that fit and 275 rear tires on 10" BBS wheels like a PROPER 430 horsepower car. Oh yeah, and just for your reference, here's what REAL track wheels and tires look like: 285/30 all around.

Looks good, but wider tires would fit if you rolled/pulled the fenders.

whats the obsession with FnF?
its not like we all have neon underglow, fart cans on a stock motor, and HUGE bodykits with abnormal shapes that make it look like some sort of alien.

as for fitting wheels without changing camber and ****
we set the car up for that particular camber setting cause we like it like that and fit our wheels accordingly. theres also a wonderful thing called SPACERS
u dont like it, get higher offset wheels and wider tires or whatever u changed it for. u think buying a set of wheels is set for life? its called having multiple wheels.

christ man we desire performance in our own way
we arent concerned about the fastest lap, we're soley interested in FUN
i dont care if u dont like drift thats fine, to each their own
but if u got nothing to say other than my wheels dont fit then why bother telling me it doesnt fit when i daily drive it like this?
i also race like this too and i find it works for me sooo i fail to see ur point of ur set up being better than mine, u ask any drifter and they all have different settings and wheel sizes, some like big tires up front or out back etc etc, everyone has their own preference.

lots of negative camber up front doesnt kill tires fast at all
camber changes when u turn and since we all race and drift where we are ALWAYS turning, the camber wear is even

maybe its cause u do a lot of straights that u think it would wear more...

oh and uhh toe eats tires not camber... only mad camber in the rear kills em cause they only go straight obviously

we dont do this to be different we do this cause we buy **** we like for our cars
almost none of our cars are pretty or would win any awards

to me all u fd owners are EXACTLY the same, different wheels, same size wheels, same size tires, all pretend to do track time, althougth some of u do, i see a lot of posers on here that mod their car FOR track but dont actually track their car, and if they do they suck the **** cause they dont know how to tune their suspension.
so they say they raced once and then never talk about it cause they sucked so bad or crashed or sumin

ziptied guys, yal know who u are, we make fun of drift posers all the time, they make US look bad thats why our forum has a screening process and typically are only allowed in cause u know some of us under a vouch ya its elitest but it keeps noobs and idiots alike out.

u think ur the only ones gettin heat (bad press, shitty movies, bad tv)?

-RX7 owners are the furthest from that **** cause they arent as cheap as a civic or whatever, theres plenty of guys who buy cars and totally mollest them so **** man dont group all of us together. theres SOOOO many cheap 240 and rolla owners its not even funny, i buy all quality parts, not like megan coils, megan this and that etc etc, thats when u can group me into homo group, but i spend a great deal of time money and sweat n tears in my car and hell i work on them all day long too, im a bodyman, not a god damn butcher, i work on BMWs Volvos every god damn day and **** Mini's on a side note...

if anything we (ppl who actually do race and do motorsports) should stick together but u refuse to acknowledge the other side of the coin

this is what heat does to u, makes u ignorant - case in point - u think anyone who mods their cars like us are retarded with bad fitting wheels, slammed and generally ugly cars... like give ur head a shake, its like me saying all americans are dumb and fat and marry their cousins, know how dumb that sounds?

ya exactly...

u no like flush? slammed? but u like pooshah?

oh and a gangter FD

btw just saw ur post and those arent flush and u can fit bigger wider tires liek that other dood said if u rolled and pulled
u can see in ur pic that its sunk battleship

Thats lip. But you cant get in on that, because if Mazda wanted you to run good fitment wheels, they would have rolled the fender from the factory hahaha.

Furthemore, could you try and jerk yourself off harder? Because I'm sure Porsche 997 GT3s are clamouring to park next to that hot town car in the paddock. hahahaha.

Actually, no. 285/30/18 on a 10" wheel is about the maximum you can run up front, and I HAVE rolled fenders in front. I could get a slightly more in rear, but this way they are rotateable. I have a 5mm spacer for the rear track wheels if I care to use it.

That car has fender flares, and is no comparison.

My street wheels have a 2.5" lip on the rear. But no, I can't lay a "dolla bill" on the lip and take a picture to put on the internet to show how big it is to make up for my small *****.

997 GT3 owners usually do take interest in my car... after I smoke them on track.

p.s., my paint is flawless, I haven't a clue what you're talking about.
